Transcendence is powerful and needs to be, but I earned 4.4x more Hero Souls on 1 primal boss, than all my previous per-transcendence runs combined and it only took me 1 day to Transcend. Nonetheless, Transcendence is handed to the player too quickly. I should have had to do a bit more work in the Ascension layer before moving to the Transcendence layer. It's not that it's good for the players to be in a slump for long, but I was making solid progress simply Ascending. However, now if you start a new game, you can Transcend, far before you reach a slump.
However, keep in mind that all players at the time had spent considerable time in the first layer of prestige (Ascending). Players, at the time had pushed pretty much as far as they could go and things got stagnate. In the case with CH1 it's why the second layer was introduced in the first place. Also, if I were a new player, spending a bit more time on Ancients before moving to Outsiders would have let me understand the game better, instead of throwing Outsiders into the mix well before even being able to get a grasp on what all the Ancients do.Ģ - Usually a 2nd prestige layer is unlocked to help players get over progress slumps. If I were a new player to CH1, I would still have had multiple Ancients to purchase and play around with. It's fine for a game to spend quite a bit of time doing layer 1 prestiges, especially if there is still new content to explorer within that layer. That's 6 times slower than the time it takes in CH1 to reach Transcendence. For example, in the game Transport Defender it took me about 6 days to do my first Sentinel Reset (which is a second prestige layer). I have plenty of experience with CH1, but I look at the game through the eyes of new player, it's odd to do a layer 2 prestige so soon.ġ - Typically an incremental game with 2 prestige layers has the player explore the first prestige layer for quite some time before going into that second layer. Recently I started a new game, it's still enjoyable, but it struck me rather odd at how quickly Transcendence is unlocked.
I played that for a while too and eventually stopped. I took a break and came back an played after Transcendence was added. I started playing Clicker Heroes 1 way back in 2014 and played it a lot into 2016.
